Stanley Wiater is an author and television host who has written twenty-one books including biographies of Stephen King and Richard Matheson and he hosted the television series Dark Dreamers which featured interviews with horror creators such as Clive Barker and Wes Craven. Wiater’s essay “Disturbo 13: The Most Disturbing Horror Films Ever Made” was published in the anthology book Cut! Horror Writers on Horror Film edited by Christopher Golden and the essay has been a guide for connoisseurs of extreme and disturbing cinema. In this interview Wiater discusses the legacy of his essay and what makes a film disturbing.
